Community Outreach and Teach (COAT)

Inspired by Herman Hesse’s novel, Siddhartha, and with the tenets of Rachel’s Challenge in mind, I asked my students to think of a way to start a chain reaction of holiday spirit. Bear Facts returns in print

It's back! After a two year break, Bear Facts returned to Vestal High School at the start of 2011 in print. Under the leadership of VHS senior editor Victoria Zhuang, the 20-page newspaper was distributed at the high school on January 5. Faculty advisor Ms. Vanderpool said she was very pleased with the debut of the print version and hopes it will inspire more students to contribute to future issues. "I know students have thoughts worth sharing," she said, "and the school newspaper to display those thoughts." Students should listen for announcements for future Bear Facts meetings, or see Victoria Zhuang or advisors Ms. Vanderpool and Ms. Zimmet for more information.
